A Snow White Christmas

Picture
What a wonderful way to start your Holiday  Season by enjoying "A Snow White Christmas", a Kris Lythgoe Production, at the "Laguna Playhouse". This interactive play in the U.S.A., also called "Panto" in the United Kingdom is sure to bring you to tears of joy with the amazing performances by an incredible cast. My favorite is "Muddles" the Court Jester. The play runs until December 27th, 2015. The venue is beautiful and the acting is outstanding. This is truly a must see for the entire Family.

Red Carpet Hosting and Story by Robert Vincent.

"Saved in America" is a project that Kim Sill has been working on for many years. It is a sad story as over 5 million Dogs and Cats are euthanized every year. Kim and other volunteers give countless hours of time to dedicate their lives in the rescue of these amazing and loving animals. You will see and feel in this film what could have been a tragedy turns  into triumph with the rescue and adoption of thousands of animals who were living in appalling conditions. Through the good works of Kim's company Shelter Hope Pet Shop and huge support from the Jason Heigl Foundation along with many other groups throughout the Country, they are Saving Lives in America... For information on how to help please email info@shelterhopepetshop.org and jennifer@jasonheiglfoundation.org.
I hope all who can give assistance whether by work or check will reach out with their hands but give with their Hearts...

"Burbank on Parade
"
-Story and pictures by Robert Vincent

PictureCouncil Woman Emily Gabel Luddy
Last Saturday  April 24th was an amazing time for Burbank Citizens with the Annual “ Burbank on  Parade.”  This year the theme was “Western Days”. We had Dr. Mayor Gordon , Vice – Mayor  Bob Frutos and Council persons  Emily Gabel Luddy, Gary Bric , Jess Talamontes and other Dignitaries riding in Sports Cars , Floats and Horse & Buggy. The weather was cool with the temptation of rain. The Parade was a success boasting of over 100 entrants including Cowboy Bands, High School Bands, Classic Cars, Beautiful Horses, the Burbank Police and Fire Departments and as always, The Cheerleaders of Burbank “The Civic Pride Committee”.
Everyone seemed to have a great time and the rain held off until the Parade was finished which made for a chilly day perfect for a walk to “ Donut Prince “  for some hot chocolate and a tasty treat . As the Parade ended the rain  came down for over three hours, which made the rest of the weekend clear and beautiful.

Story and Pictures by Robert Vincent

Last Saturday was the annual Hoof & Woof Event which featured Burbank Police Equestrian and K-9 Units. This year the guest speaker was Actress and Animal advocate Linda Blair. Linda travels the Country lecturing and teaching about animal rights and the importance of educating the public. Linda has one of the largest Animal Rescue Centers in the State., it is located in Acton, CA. Linda is a dynamic speaker and has been a friend to animals for decades.
The Hoof & Woof boasted of over a hundred Dogs powerful Horses, a miniature Donkey and a few Bunnies. As you view the photo gallery you can see the display
put in by the Burbank and Glendale Police Departments were pretty amazing. My favorite is the K-9 team of Officer John Embleton and “Stevo”; who was really into taking down the bad guys. Saturday was beautiful with a daytime high in the 80’s and if our four legged friends got a bit over heated they had a private pool at their disposal.
Sgt. Carey Schilf was the key speaker for the Equestrian or “Mounted ddvision." Horse power is incredible. The crowd was over two hundred strong and everyone seemed to enjoy the day. There were many booths featuring adoption, rescue, The Burbank Police Foundation, Centinela Pet Supply, The amazing Road Kings and their Classic Cars and many other organizations.
To me, the only thing missing that would have made the event a “perfect 10” was a variety of Food Trucks. , after all People love Animals and they love to eat… For more information on Linda Blairs organization " The Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation " go to www.lindablairworldheart.org

Burbank Community Academy
"An Incredible Journey"
- Written By Robert Vincent

Picture

Approximately one Month ago I was accepted along with sixty five other Citizens to be part of an extreme course entailing the inter-workings of the Burbank Police Department. I have been fortunate to have been born and educated in our fine City starting over A half century ago and therefore feel a sense of responsibility to be involved in the Community. Burbank has changed for the better, especially in the last ten years regarding safety and the reduction of all crimes. Burbank has a reputation of a small "sleepy" Town. But, as the "Media Capital of the World" there is a constant danger of terrorist threats. I encourage all Citizens in our City and surrounding areas to fill out and send in your application to the 2015 Burbank Community Academy to begin in March. This nine week course will inform you on all aspects of the Burbank Police Department and give you a better understanding of the strength and focus of the proud and brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day so we may live in a safe and protected environment.

BURBANK POLICE DEPARTMENT

Picture
Date: February 18, 2015

On February 17, 2015 at approximately 2:30 p.m., a Burbank Police Officer working patrol received an alert of a stolen vehicle on the automated license plate reader system. The officer conducted a records check of the vehicle's license plate with the B.P.D. Communications Center, which advised that the vehicle was reported stolen during a nighttime residential burglary out of Los Angeles the day before.

The Officer conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle in the area of Magnolia Boulevard and Third Street. The vehicle pulled along the east curb of Third Street. Additional officers responded and ordered the male and sole occupant of the vehicle to exit the vehicle; however, the male ignored the many requests to leave the vehicle..

Story and Pictures by: Robert Vincent

Burbank Command called in the S.W.A.T. Team complete with Armored Tank vehicles and a fully dressed team;  in conjunction with Crisis Negotiation, Mental Health Evaluators and additional Heavily Armored Personnel. While negotiations were unattainable I was impressed by the patience and focused attention of The Burbank Police Department. Finally, after over two hours the male suspect, taunting, yelling and making finger gestures at the Police who were trying to help., the Negotiator realized it was time for action. With a smooth and perfectly executed plan, I next heard  was a Flash Bang which got a reaction from the dozens of spectators on the balconies and roof tops watching the event live. The only one not affected was the suspect. S.W.A.T. then deployed chemical agents from their vehicles. The male suspect moved from the drivers seat to the passenger seat as he tore off his clothing and tossed it out the car while still not surrendering.  S.W.A.T. and Police Personnel were standing ready and the Canine was ready for action, which freaked out the suspect who finally opened the door, then closed it again because of the intense barking of the fearless Canine. The male finally exited the car wearing only boxers and a crazed look on his face., He did not follow directions and was greeted by a bean bag round to the mid-section which dropped him gently to the ground. The Team subdued the Male Suspect and proceeded to take him into custody, "Brandon Degourville" , who resides in Los Angeles, is being held on $25,000 bail and has a Court Date Thursday, February 19, 2015...  Robert Vincent and BurbankUSAGlobal.com want to thank the Burbank Police Department, including all personnel. As well as the Fire Department Paramedic Team, Air Support Team and the K-9 Unit. They all worked together like a finely tuned instrument with a successful ending...  A special thank you to the Glendale S.W.A.T. Team for their assistance.

WWW.BurbankUSAGlobal.com and Robert Vincent welcome Tiffany Kathryn Hayden (Model / Actress) to Burbank as she shops at "Junk for Joy" in Magnolia Park. Tiffany was in search for something cool-chic to wear for Saint Patrick's Day and as you can see she made these outfits look sexy and fun. She was a pleasure to visit with as she has a small town attitude and would rather ask questions than talk about herself (That's rare). Tiffany is from Pine Crest, Florida and while in Florida she was a Fitness and Bikini Model, as well as reality T.V. Actress. Tiffany has been in Los Angeles for only two months and looked lovely on the "Red Carpet" at the 2015 Academy Awards, which is why I was pleased she wanted to visit Burbank, and do a photo shoot at the Starlight Bowl. We at WWW.BurbankUSAGlobal.com are going to follow her career which will soon be on the fast track to success. Visit my Website to follow Tiffany's next photo shoot. Visit Tiffany Kathryn Hayden on Facebook to say hello, and tell her Rob sent you.

" Sixty Miles to Paradise "
                                 By Robert Vincent

Take the 101 North from Los Angeles an in an hour or so you will arrive at an awesome destination which is the "Jewel of Ventura"  the Crowne Plaza Resort.  You will begin to decompress and relax the moment you park your car and open the door to be greeted by a cool Ocean breeze and the mellow sound of the crashing waves. Upon entering the Lobby you will encounter a cheerful Staff and Guests as well. The Crowne Plaza is popular for Conventions, Weddings and Parties. The atmosphere is charming and inviting whether enjoying the lounge or relaxing in your room while soaking in the spectacular views before going to my room I was greeted at Reservations by a friendly courteous staff who introduced me to the Manager on duty Brian Benavidez who went above and beyond to ensure a positive experience. I had booked a Parlor Suite and was incredibly impressed. The rooms were beautifully appointed as you will see in the Picture Gallery. The suite has a private bedroom and bath as well as a connected large living / dining area and second bath for guests. I immediately dropped the overnight bag on the bed and headed back down to the lounge for a glass of Pinot Noir with an hour before what would be a breath taking sunset. The wonderful thing about the Crowne Plaza is that once you park your vehicle it is only  five to ten minute walk to Restaurants, Entertainment, and an eclectic plethora of Boutique Stores. That evening I chose to dine next door at the "Aloha Steakhouse". Exquisite food comparable to Ruth's Chris  but with a mellow and relaxed atmosphere. I then returned to the Hotel outside lounge area to enjoy the wonderful service of Katy who was effervescent with a warm personality and likeable charm; It was a pleasure to enjoy the pleasant fire pit while making some new Friends.Later I was greeted again by the night time manager who surprised me with a glass of my favorite wine and two complimentary breakfast vouchers. Brian is professional, gracious and is a great conversationalist with an easy speaking manner. Later that evening it was time to enjoy the Suite; with it's vast living area and three balconies as well as the distant sound of the Ocean you can understand why the Crowne Plaza is a wonderful getaway. Whether staying for a day, a week or even longer. The next day began with a lovely sunrise boasting of silver rays that seemed to make the waves sparkle and shine.
Do Yourself, Family and Friends a favor and experience the Crowne Plaza. ( Gift Certificates ) available...Tell them " Rob sent you " and enjoy...

The Regional Inter Model Transportation Center
Grand Opening was a huge success as shown by the attention from the 'Media'. I was impressed by the culmination of services that will be in a centralized location. There is more to follow, including a pedestrian bridge which will cross over Empire and connect RITC to the Metro link/ Amtrack Station. There were many Dignitaries including Senator Carol Liu, Burbank Mayor Dr. David Gordon, Vice Mayor Bob Frutos, and our esteemed City Council including former Mayors Gary Brick and Emily Gabel Luddy.  Centennial Mayor Jess Talamantes was on hand for this special occasion as well.  BurbankUSAglobal.com is proud to be included with this event celebrated on this beautiful morning.

Stough Park Nature Center

It was a beautiful day at the Nature Center which is nestled in the Burbank Hills above Debelle Golf Course. This is where the annual "Native American Celebration" takes place where there was traditional dance and music. You could also enjoy the wood carving exhibition as well as artifacts and small pieces of Native American culture. The Nature Center is a wonderful learning experience for all in which you are able to view local foliage and wildlife. While most animals were on display I was able to interview some locals enjoying the day.

Tuesday June 25th - John Burroughs High School had a very important blood drive to help replenish Providence St. Joseph Hospital Summer supply Blood Program.  John Burroughs High School Teacher and Civic Pride member Lisa Freeman spearheaded the Blood Drive.  Ms. Freeman was joined by newly re-elected Civic Pride President Robert Vincent and newly elected Vice-President Linda Silvas.  They  chose to give some time for this wonderful cause.  Soon to be Senior Juliana Pineda took time out of her Summer vacation to roll by via skateboard ready and willing to give.  Unfortunately Ms. Pineda was rejected because she had recently visited the Dentist and turned over her wisdom teeth.  Juliana a little disappointed simply said, "When is the next one"?  She has the positive attitude which Burbank citizens are known for.  Thank You, Juliana, we will see you soon.  Tuesday was on the hot side but we managed to collect several pints of the amazing life force.  Lisa, Linda and Robert want to Thank all who participated.  To the residents who could not make it we hope you will donate next time or visit The Providence Blood Donor Center at 501 South Buena Vista St.  Burbank, CA 91501 or call (800) 469-9555 to make an appointment.

Burbank National Night Out
August 7, 2012 (The Chandler Bike Path)

This wonderful event was first started to educate the public on safety and situational awareness in their neighborhood.  An amazing thing has evolved; the city creates a great environment in which the Police Department shares information to the community with the spokesperson being chief Scott LaChasse who informed us that the crime rate had gone down; great news but take into consideration Burbank has low crime rate and is in the top 100 places to live in the USA.  Also attending were Chief Ray Krakowski, Mayor Dave Golonski, Vice Mayor Emily Gabel Luddy  and the entire Council.  There were many information booths as you will see in the picture gallery.  The Civic Pride Committee was on hand to distribute information as well as the ever popular “I Love Burbank Buttons”.  I also want to thank “Weiner Schnitzel” for their participation on and creating a lot of smiles.  In addition to the bike path there were several block parties around the area.  One of the biggest was The Rose Street Block Party put on by Civic Pride Committee‘s Henry Deil with the help of Civic Pride Members Shelly Davies and Ellie Myer.  There was plenty of food, fun and games for the kids.  The block party was successful because this neighborhood truly cares about each other and our lovely city.  I caught the last few minutes of a festive party on Chandler featuring fabulous child dancers with the wonderful flavor of the Latino Community.  This was a wonderful gift for the neighborhood.  This year was very special indeed even though the evening was a balmy 95 degrees and in a tough economy the spirit of Burbank and it’s residents is a shining example of our close and patriotic community.

     K9 COMPETITION

Picture

I want to thank Sgt. Robert Villegas for our invitation to enjoy the Los Angeles County Police Canine Associations annual demonstration and Safety Fair at Santa Monica College Stadium. The crowd was impressed by the connection between the police handlers and their K9 partners. The police canines were impressive as they took down the "bad guys" and followed commands with determination and extreme focus. The Safety Fair was a big hit with Representatives from many services, including Search and Rescue, The California Highway Patrol and my favorite, " The Young Marines", who proudly represent the future of Military diversity and determination. The day was filled with interesting information while having fun along the way.

Story by Robert Vincent

Last Tuesday August 6 was " National Night Out " which is celebrated throughout the country.  This night is sponsored by the Local Police Department.  In our case the brave Men and Women of the Burbank Police Department who make it a neighborhood block party where the Chief of Police boasts of positive statistics, (Which in our case is true) from lower crime rates, to an increase of citizens interest and involvement.  Many Departments and Committees participated in the event which help create a real sense of community.  I talked to many people about Burbank who all had positive things to say about the city.  "All true of course"  There were two boys who stood out from the rest of the folks.  The first thing I heard was their soft Texas accents.  They are here to become our newest Actors.  Dylan Howell and Hunter Lower; who just auditioned for "Lost in Darkness"  He is patiently waiting for the second call back.  Dylan has auditions coming later this month.  The boys have only been here for three weeks but have already been taken in by Burbank's charm and friendly people.  Dylan told me he feels totally safe and outside of his home in Tulia, Texas.  He thinks our City would make a great second home.  I introduced them to our Mayor Emily Gabel Luddy and our Chief of Police Scott Lachasse who welcomed them to our lovely city and wished them well in their pursuits.  As you can tell by the pictures the event was a success and everyone had a wonderful time.  BurbankUSAglobal.com wants to thank the Police Department for keeping the Community informed and safe.

Story and Pictures by Robert Vincent
Tuesday June 4, 2013 will be a day to remember as our acting Police Chief is sworn in as our permanent Police Chief (A gift to Burbank).  The morning was refreshing with light gray skies and hint of a breeze; which is a blessing not to have the heat of the glaring sun on this special day.  Scott La Chase has been the interim Chief for over eighteen months and in that time he and his team have managed the legal firestorm that has engulfed the Department.  Chief Lachasse comes to our city with impeccable credentials that spans over decades.  The Chief and his team which he always gives credit have implemented new policies, boosted morale, have quicker call response times and lessened crime in our beautiful city. Today Burbank boasts of Police Chiefs from several cities throughout Los Angeles County some of which were mentors and others who have worked with or befriended Scott over the years.  Chief Lachasse has touched thousands of lives during his career.  These brothers and sisters shout  praises about Scott and as usual the Chief with humility, pride and a bit of humor spoke of their guidance and gives credit to his team and the others which is well deserved.  There were enlightening speeches given by many dignitaries none more enthusiastic than Mayor Emily Gabel Luddy. The entire City Council was in attendance as well as the City Manager who has great admiration for our Chief.  I believe with the combination of the Chiefs past experience and vast knowledge, the support of his great team and city personnel we have all the ingredients for an amazing future.  Chief Scott Lachasse loves his Family, Career and our great Country. The Chief  lives and breathes The Constitution of The United States of America. There was  one disappointing note; the Chief's son Dan a Captain in the VMFA 232 Red Devils in the Marine Corps.and flies F-18s  is in Arizona on special weapons training as he is heading back to the Middle East on another tour of duty. When the Chief talks about his son you can see the pride in his face and hear it in his voice.  Chief Lachasse had many special friends here today including two special guests. His lovely Mother Dorothy and his Brother Dean who is proudly serving as a Deputy Sheriff in LASD.  I was honored to be at today's Ceremony.  We have a Chief and entire Department that shows dedication to our citizens and love of our Country which you can see by the crisp salutes to our symbol of greatness; The American Flag.  I along with the citizens of Burbank want to Thank You all for your dedication and service.  Today we witnessed the measure of a man.. Chief Scott Lachasse "Loved by many - Respected by All".
